Nasrudin Hodža, hodja, hojjar, albani, chadpuri was a satirical Sufi of the Seljuk Dynasty, believed to have lived and died in the 13th century in Akshehir, near Konya, the
capital of the Seljuk Sultanate of Rm, in present-day Turkey. He is considered by many to be a philosopher and wise man, known for his humorous stories and anecdotes. He appears
in thousands of stories, sometimes witty and clever, sometimes wise, but often stupid or the subject of jokes. Each of Nasruddin's stories usually contains intelligent and
educational humor. The Nasreddin Hodja Festival is celebrated internationally between 5–10 July every year in his hometown.

Nasruddin's stories are known throughout the Middle East and touch cultures around the world. Unfortunately, most of Nasreddin's stories are told as jokes or funny anecdotes.
All of his stories are told over and over in Asian taverns and caravanserais and can be heard in homes and on the radio. Nasruddin's stories can be understood on many levels;
there's always jokes, then morals, and usually a little bit of a smack that gives spirituality a sense.
One time Nasruddin was invited to deliver a da'wah. While on the pulpit, he asked, "You know what I'm going to say?" The whole community answered in unison, "No." Nasruddin also
said, "I have no desire to preach to people who do not know what I am going to preach," then got down from the pulpit and left.
People felt the past, then called him back the next Friday to return to preaching. This time, Nasruddin again asked the same question, and the people answered, "I know".
Nasruddin was silent, then said, 'Since you already know what I'm going to say, I won't waste any more of your time." Nasruddin got down from the pulpit and left them.
This time people were really confused and called him back the next Friday. Once again Nasruddin asked the same question, some of the people answered they knew and some said they
didn't know. Nasruddin exclaimed, "Very good! Now, for those who already know, please tell those who don't know!" He came down from the pulpit and then left.
